Female Gaze

Female Gaze

“The Female Gaze” reframes the canon of art history by placing Michelangelo’s David — the archetype of masculine idealization — under the scrutiny of a female audience. Encased in the form of a shirt, the piece juxtaposes vulnerability and spectacle, turning the gaze back onto the male body. In doing so, it questions who gets to look, who gets to be looked at, and how power shifts when the roles of observer and subject are reversed.
